My wife, Willie (nee Wilma), and I are the happy caretakers of a happy seventeen-month-old pure white toy schnauzer, Hanna. Hanna occupies the center of our attention. If you spent a day in our home, you’d hear “Where’s Hanna?” at least seven times. Hanna sleeps with us, alternating between cuddling with me and cuddling with Willie. In addition to being cute and affectionate, Hanna’s very playful. In fact, she’s even invented a form of hide and seek that she plays with us when she’s excited over the promise of going for a walk through the world’s mélange of smells. Hanna makes us laugh a lot, every day. I’m sure that she’s adding to our lifespans.
Hanna enjoys privilege that our children did not enjoy. The kids have even mentioned it to us.
