The Incredible Heaviness of Being Parented

Will someone please explain to me why young people in their twenties and thirties, people who have already lived independently for some period of time in a college dorm or apartment, require their parents’ help in moving from Domicile A to Domicile B? The fact of the matter is that a young person who can’t figure out and execute the logistics of moving him/herself into new digs probably and almost certainly isn’t ready to live independently.
