The Cult of Gentle Parenting

The Cut, an e-zine apparently targeted to folks in Gotham, recently (December 13, 2023) featured an article titled “The Rise of the Accidentally Permissive Parent” by freelancer Elizabeth Passarella.

The so-called “accidentally permissive parent” is one who has been lured/pressured into participating in the “gentle parenting” cult that has co-opted the brains and lives of many an American mom over the past decade or so.

As regular readers of this Substack know, I am the self-proclaimed Anti-Gentle Parenting Dude. I stand in firm, unyielding opposition to such fake parenting “experts” as Dr. Becky Kennedy, author of Good Inside, the title of which is a tip-off to Kennedy’s fundamental ignorance concerning children. For example, Kennedy calls disobedient, tantrum-throwing brats “good kids who are having a bad time.” She should moonlight as a comedian.
