Today’s parents, more specifically, and I say this at the risk of being cancelled by the PC police, today’s MOTHERS, read too much, talk too much, and think too much. They read too many parenting books (READ MINE ONLY!), talk too much with other mothers about what they read, and just generally think too much about their children. Bear with me while I pray:
“Thank you, Lord, for assigning me to a mother who only read Spock (no, not the Vulcan), did not obsess over me, and ignored me most of the time (but was affectionate, funny, talented, smart, and interesting). If there’s anything I can ever do to repay you, let me know. Amen.”
